THE POETRY BUSINESS BOOK & PAMPHLET COMPETITION 2005

of their poetry collections

Entrants should send a collection of poems
- between 20 and 24 pages in first instance.
Entry fee: £18
Closing date: last posting 31 October, 2005.
Entries should be postmarked on or before that date.
The Competition will be judged in two stages.
The judges will select up to five manuscripts, to be published in pamphlet form as individual small collections.
Each of these first stage winners can then within one month submit an
extended manuscript.
Depending on the judges' opinion, one of these submissions may be chosen
as an overall winner, to be published as a full length collection.
The cash prize of £1,000 will be shared equally among all the winners.

* Simon Armitage, poet, dramatist, novelist and broadcaster. He has published
nine books of poetry including The Universal Home Doctor (Faber 2004).
* Peter Sansom and Janet Fisher, co-directors of The Poetry Business.
